Revitalize Your Autumn Wardrobe Early

Revitalize Your Autumn Wardrobe Early

As we come out of the summer, it’s about time to start thinking about getting the perfect wardrobe put together to help you stay cozy and look cool.

For some people, Autumn is their favorite season – the leaves are changing color, the nights are drawing in, and the smell of pumpkin spice permeates the air. When you think of fall clothing, it’s all about warm neutral colors, cozy textures, and statement pieces – and with the right planning, you can create the perfect autumn wardrobe without breaking the bank.

Choosing the right fall wardrobe will depend on your personal style. If you want something a bit more relaxed and sporty, then you might start with a standout piece like a designer finish bubble coat, or you might want to focus on refined style suitable for the workplace.

The Power of the Capsule

If you are limited on space or in budget, then a capsule wardrobe is the answer to staying stylish. You just need to choose the right things to buy to make it work. The simple tops and jeans, skirts, and even sweaters can be combined to make any number of different outfits.

Capsule wardrobes mean that you can just have a certain number of items set aside, ready for the season.

Color Makes a Difference

There are some colors that just give the fall vibes. These include burnt oranges, reds, and mustard yellows, as well as warm browns and dark greens. Imagine the colors of the leaves in Maine as they are turning, and that can be part of the palette for your fall wardrobe.

Other colors that work for Autumn include deep or wine reds and cream or taupe.

In essence, it’s time to put away the muted pastels of spring, the bright neon of summer, and focus on a color scheme that reflects the changing season and the way it affects the landscape.

Texture Counts

Fluffy socks, woolly sweaters, and other touchable textures are essential for the fall wardrobe. Not only do these textures work to keep you warm, but they look great, too.

Some of the best textures to look for include:

  • Wool
  • Corduroy
  • Flannel
  • Velvet
  • Suede
  • Leather

Key Pieces

Below is a list of some of the pieces that you should look out for.

Top layer

Your coat may be the most important factor of your outfit when it comes to the autumn months due to the dips in temperature and earlier dark nights. As the season goes on you will find that you go from your lighter thinner coats to your thicker puffer coats. Both can be worn in the exact same style if you accessorize them correctly, it is just one will keep you warmer. The perfect-colored coats for this season are brown/nude, reds and green toned coats as they match the colors of an autumn scenery perfectly.

Head and Neck

This might be more focused towards the end of the fall season, as most of us are hoping to enjoy that wonderful warm period that is affectionately known as the ‘Indian Summer.’

However, a cozy knit beanie hat and a matching scarf will become essential and can even work into the winter, too.

Tops

Think about layering as part of your fall outfit planning. This will help keep you warm when you need it, but you can remove layers when you need it too.

Long sleeved tops in various colors, turtlenecks, and even short-sleeved t-shirts work here.

You can layer them with chunky knit sweaters, flannel shirts, or cardigans.

Bottoms

Jeans in your favorite shape will always make you feel awesome, and you can pair them with any of the fall colors already mentioned. Smarter pants, such as chinos and the like, in neutral tones are a great option, and for something more fun you could go for colored tights and a miniskirt.

Footwear

Keep your toes warm with fluffy socks and choose some sort of chunky boots – great for long walks and hikes. The top choices are Doc Martins, of course, but cheaper options are available.

In terms of something more relaxed, dark colored trainers are less likely to show stains from puddles, so they might be a good choice.

Other

You can make any outfit stand out with the right accessories and statement pieces. Chunky jewelry, a designer bag, or finishing the whole thing off with a statement coat will make it look like you have just stepped off the catwalk and into the fall season.
